Indigo Moon is a charming gourmet takeout which also offers wine & cheese tasting, as well as serving lunch Monday - Saturday from 11-3:30. At the wine bar, you will be guided through a tasting of wines, cheeses, and on occasion, chocolates and olive oils. Cambria is ideally situated for you to take a day tour of our local wine regions. Paso Robles is just 30 minutes from Cambria, following Highway 46 east will lead to the heart of that region. The Edna Valley / Arroyo Grande wine region is just 40 minutes south of Cambria.
JanKris Winery is a family run winery with vineyard holdings which encompass over 170 acres in the Paso Robles region. The Gendrons' have a passion for red wines, and one of their trademarks is "Merzin" a blend of Merlot and Zinfandel which expresses the soft tannins of Merlot and captures the bold fruit of Zinfandel. A 120 year old Victorian farmhouse is the lovely setting for their tasting room. Harmony Cellars is another family run winery nestled in the hills overlooking the quaint town of Harmony, just a few miles south of Cambria on Highway 1. Chuck and Kim Mulligan built their winery on land that has been in her family for four generations. While visiting the tasting room, it is quite possible that you'll get a chance to meet Chuck, the winemaker, as well as Kim, who runs the day to day operations. With case production that is limited to 5500, you will have the unique opportunity to try their wines.
If you are heading south to San Luis Obispo, definitely make time for the Edna Valley / Arroyo Grande wine region. This area is renowned for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Rhone varietals. Maps to both regions are available from the Cambria Chamber of Commerce and Fermentations.
Cambria is in the heart of the Central Coast wine region which has received wonderful features by national publications which describe the area as "like Napa, the way it used to be."
